Reports of Radicalized Airport Employees Deeply Concerning

March 29, 2017

OTTAWA – Conservative Official Opposition Public Safety critic, Tony Clement, expressed his deep concern at reports from Trudeau International Airport in Montreal that four employees had access levels reduced for fear they had been radicalized.

Reports indicate that the employees, some who still work at the airport, visited pro-ISIL websites and published propaganda on social media. The report also indicates the employees reviewed sites online about making homemade explosives and made comments about the November 2015 Paris attacks.

“These reports are deeply troubling, and the government needs to investigate immediately to determine their veracity. They must also take all measures necessary to ensure security levels are being maintained. This is a reminder of the need to be ever vigilant against the threat of radical Islamic terrorism,” said Clement.
