The Honourable Tony Clement, mp for parry sound – Muskoka celebrates the re-opening of beaver creek bridge

Gravenhurst – The Honourable Tony Clement, MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand re-opening of Beaver Creek Bridge.
“I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to take part in the re-opening of this important part of our snowmobile trail system,” said MP Clement. “Through Canada’s Economic Action Plan, in partnership with the National Trails Coalition and, most importantly, with the hard work and dedication of the Snowcrest Riders Club, our government is proud to have helped upgrade the Beaver Creek Trail Crossing for the benefit of all outdoors enthusiasts.”
Recently, MP Tony Clement and Rick Antaya for the National Trails Coalition (NTC), announced that Snowcrest Riders in Gravenhurst would benefit from $400,000 in funding which was used to rebuild the Beaver Creek Bridge.
This project was supported through the Government of Canada’s $25 million investment in recreational trails, part of the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan. The Government of Canada’s investment was matched by the NTC and their provincial, territorial, municipal or private funding partners. A first federal payment of $12.5 million was issued to the National Trails Coalition on (July 29, 2009).
In June 2009, Prime Minister Stephen Harper was awarded the highest honour granted by the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO) for delivering on his commitment to expand Canada’s network of national trails through the Economic Action Plan.
