The Riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka consists of several municipalities, including Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, Muskoka Lakes, Seguin, Lake of Bays, Georgian Bay, and the municipalities of the Almaguin Highlands region, with a total population of about 85,000 people and an area of over 14,402 square kilometers. The two distinct districts, Parry Sound and Muskoka, were only recently amalgamated into one electoral district giving a huge geographical area to one Member of Parliament to represent.
Long known as a tourist region, with summer cottages and hunt camps located next door to graceful old Muskoka resorts, the region plays host to hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Whether it be Hollywood movie stars, NHL superstars or just plain old folk from the concrete jungles looking for a summer retreat, Parry Sound-Muskoka has something for everyone.
Parry Sound-Muskoka is privileged to be home to seven First Nations, two Metis groups and Canadians from every part of the country. These people are living and working side by side with each other and with a large diversity of immigrants from around the world. They all share a common love for the clean air, the natural wonders and the slightly more relaxed lifestyle offered in a rural or small town atmosphere.
Parry Sound-Muskoka offers access to businesses looking to re-locate, airports, great highways, an educated work force and a wonderful lifestyle for employees. We offer hospitals in or near each major centre and primary care in many more areas.
