ATIKOKAN, Ontario, March 28, 2012 — The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister for FedNor, today announced a Government of Canada investment of $75,000 to support community-based economic development initiatives in the Atikokan region.
“The Government of Canada is pleased to partner with local organizations, such as the Atikokan Economic Development Corporation, to support initiatives that strengthen and diversity the economy of the region,” said Minister Clement. “Today’s announcement will help promote local economic development and community improvement projects.”
The FedNor funding will enable the Atikokan Economic Development Corporation to fund a variety of community-based economic development projects in its service area.
